 The botany, the chemistry, and the pharmacy

In the next post I we talk to you about the importance of the botany area in the pharmacy studies

Always in the whole world, you mother, your grandmother, your neighbor, or a doctor, all these persons recommended drink some rare tea, of roots or plants, to achieve a cure for a type of little pain, an illness, or a cold.

These millenary traditions, don’t work for a casualty of the live, is all about the “Active principle”, the active principles, sometimes because of evolution or a coincidence, they manage to synthesize in some plants.

And one of the big homework for all the pharmaceutical Chemist is discover and potency his active principles!

One of the most famous histories about the active ingredients in plants is this:

People of a village they recommended for a headache, a tea of Willow leaves, the taste of this tea was very bitter, but was cured of his headache.

The scientist amazed by the healing power of the tea, they investigated the plant and discover the active principle, they were able to mass-produce, and this drug is one of the most important drugs in our daily life, the aspirin.

Perhaps many cures to diseases are before our eyes waiting to be discovered?

Hence the importance of botany and pharmacy
